Man behind viral alligator video throws shade at Sixers star Ben Simmons

The man behind a viral alligator video has thrown some shade at Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons.

Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons has turned into public enemy No. 1 in the City of Brotherly Love after coming up short in the 2021 postseason. Since then, the Sixers have been trying to find a home for the embattled star and things have gotten messy.

Simmons has yet to report to the team as he missed the entirety of training camp and he is still not with the team as they head into their first preseason matchup on Monday against the Toronto Raptors. Philadelphia has tried to get him to show up by withholding his pay, but that has yet to deter him from holding out at the moment.

Simmons has been called out by a Philadelphia newscaster as well as a weatherman and now, the man behind a recent vial alligator video has thrown some shade as well.

Eugene Bozzi, a Philadelphia native, has gone viral for capturing an alligator in a trash can and releasing it into a nearby waterway. He was interviewed by CBS Philadelphia and when he was asked about it, he answered: “I’m not going to be Ben Simmons. I’m going to get me this basket.”

Obviously, a reference to Simmons passing up the dunk in Game 7 against the Atlanta Hawks.

The Sixers will continue to try and find a trade for the 25-year old 3-time All-Star, but until then, Philadelphia will have to also find a way to get him to show up to the team at some point.
