Could the Washington Football Team finally see wide receiver Curtis Samuel on the field this Sunday?
Samuel made a positive step toward playing by practicing on Thursday. It was the first time since the spring that Samuel participated in practice on consecutive days.
Washington has until Oct. 20 to activate Samuel, or he remains on the injured reserve for the season. While his status for Sunday’s game is still a mystery, he should be back before that deadline unless there is a setback.
Samuel looked like he was practicing with no limitations this week, per Sam Fortier of The Washington Post.

After practice, offensive coordinator Scott Turner spoke to the media and liked what he saw from Samuel.
“Curtis did a great job,” Turner said Thursday, per Fortier. “He did a nice job yesterday, did a little bit more today. He kind of has a little bit of spring in his steps. We’ll continue to evaluate it.”
Washington’s offense, surprisingly, has not been the biggest issue for the team this season. That would be the underachieving defense. But the offense still needs plenty of help, and the return of Samuel could be precisely what Washington and quarterback Taylor Heinicke need before entering a difficult stretch beginning in Week 5.
