Bears open as 2.5-point home favorites vs. Lions in Week 4

The Bears have opened as 2.5-point favorites against the Lions, but this game is no gimme win, especially for this Chicago offense.

The Chicago Bears will host the Detroit Lions in Week 4, a game that couldn’t have come at a better time following a brutal Week 3 loss. Chicago will be looking to avoid a 1-3 start with a win over Detroit, a team that isn’t a gimme win.

The Bears have opened as 2.5-point home favorites against the Lions, according to Tipico Sportsbook. The over/under is set at 42.5 points.

There’s not a lot of confidence in Chicago considering the home team is usually afforded 3 points. Perhaps that has something to do with the Bears’ embarrassing offensive performance last week or the fact that Matt Nagy said he’s considering starting Nick Foles.

This is the second time this season the Bears are favored, with the other coming in Week 2 against the Bengals. Chicago has been underdogs in both road contests against the Los Angeles Rams and Cleveland Browns, both losses.

Can the Bears rebound after a brutal loss? Or will Detroit pull off the upset? We’ll see when the Bears and Lions kick things off Sunday at Noon CT on FOX.
