The former Troy University wide receivers’ coach has been let go, per Justin Hokanson.
Cornelius Williams spent the previous six years at Troy before being hired to coach wide receivers at Auburn. Williams was three games into his first season with the Tigers. Williams has also spent time at UAB and Jacksonville State. His prowess on the recruiting trail intrigued fans before the season began, but unfortunately the on the field product was not impressive. Auburn’s receivers has struggled to create separation consistently. Communication and drops have also been an issue. How Auburn evaluates and coaches the position moving forward is up in the air. More details to come.
