Mid-American Conference best bets for Week 4

Looking at the best Mid-American Conference (MAC) bets for Week 4, based on the college football odds and lines at Tipico Sportsbook.

The Mid-American Conference (MAC) had a rough week, as just five of the 12 teams ended up winning games. That record is even less impressive if you take out the three wins against FCS teams, making the MAC just 2-7 SU vs. FBS teams in Week 3. Below, we look at the best bets from the Mid-American Conference in Week 4, and make our expert college football picks, predictions and bets.

Bowling Green (+31.5, -117) at Minnesota (Saturday at noon ET)

The Falcons picked up their first victory of the season last weekend at Doyt Perry, taking a 27-10 decision over FCS Murray State. The Racers are actually a pretty solid team from that level.

Bowling Green is now just 1-2 SU, but they are a favorite at the betting window going 3-0 ATS, as well as a perfect 3-0 on Under results, too.

Minnesota was awfully sharp in a 30-0 road win at Colorado last weekend, but the Golden Gophers could have a little bit of an emotional letdown against the Falcons in this tune-up game before the conference schedule begins.

San Jose State at Western Michigan (-2.5, -117) (Saturday at 2 p.m. ET)

The Broncos are coming off an emotional 44-41 win as 14-point underdogs at Pittsburgh last week. They have now won and covered each of the past two after getting pasted in the opener at Michigan.

On the flip side, San Jose State is likely to be a bit on the tired side. The Spartans scratched out a low-scoring 17-13 win in the islands over Hawaii Saturday, and now they travel east three time zones to Kalamazoo, Mich.

It’s going to be tough for the Spartans adjusting to a six-time-zone change, and the Broncos aren’t exactly the easiest team to handle.

Buffalo (-13.5, -108) at Old Dominion (Saturday at 6 p.m. ET)

The Bulls came up just short against ranked Coastal Carolina last weekend at UB Stadium, falling 28-25 to easily cover as 14-point underdogs.

The Monarchs of ODU have struggled offensively, going for just 13.5 PPG in its two games against FBS opponents. In those two games, the Monarchs have yielded 43.5 PPG.

The Bulls are a tremendous rushing team, posting 236.3 yards per game on the ground, while the Monarchs rank 76th in the country with 150.0 rushing yards per game allowed. This one could get quite ugly in the Tidewater.
