The annual cavalcade of top-100 player rankings for the NBA has begun. Sports Illustrated released the first half of its annual version of the NBA ranking exercise we use both to assess the coming season collectively as much as to get through the absence of games. At least one Boston Celtic finds himself in solid company in SI’s assessment.
That would be veteran Celtics guard Marcus Smart, who clocks in at No. 60 in the annual rankings for the 2021-22 season on our doorstep. Does it make sense to have the Flower Mound native so high? Is Smart not ranked high enough? Or is 60th overall in the NBA about right for the defensive specialist?
