Boston’s frontcourt gets no respect: Al Horford, Timelord among SI’s biggest NBA top-100 snubs

There’s always someone on the outside looking in fans will find outrageous.

This is the time of the year that we begin to see expert prognostications about how the players of the NBA ought to be ranked in comparison to their peers, usually focused on the top 100 players in the league in any given season.

And with that exercise, there are inevitably players who find their game viewed as less than what the fans (and likely themselves) think said players ought to be ranked. Sometimes, even, said prognosticators admit their sins with some sort of explanation for the slight, and that is exactly what happened with two big names drawn out of the Boston Celtics’ frontcourt for the 2021-22 season.

The duo in question are Al Horford and Robert Williams III, both of who just missed the cut in Sports Illustrated’s opinion of the top 100 players in the league heading into next season.
