Titans’ Mike Vrabel: Bullock’s FG was a ‘Jesus take the wheel’ moment

Titans head coach Mike Vrabel likened the FG try to sending “kids out of the house into a car.”

The Tennessee Titans battled back from a 15-point deficit against the Seattle Seahawks and put themselves in position to win the game in overtime by getting into field goal range for kicker Randy Bullock.

Thankfully, Bullock came through for the Titans, nailing a 36-yard, game-winning field goal to propel his team to an improbable 33-30 victory.

After the game, Vrabel likened Bullock’s kick to allowing your kids to go out in a car by themselves or with friends, saying it’s a “Jesus take the wheel” kind of moment.

“I mean, obviously, you know, extremely happy,” Vrabel said. “I’m happy for Randy. He’s been a lot of places, and he’s made kicks in this league, so I’m happy for him so he can get recognized and help this football team win. But, you know, you’re helpless. We’ve all sent our kids out of the house into a car. You know, it’s Jesus take the wheel, I guess.”

Naturally, Twitter had some fun with this quote:

For a team like the Titans that has had every kind of kicker issue imaginable the past two seasons yet somehow neglected the position this offseason, Vrabel was no doubt sweating the situation.

However, none of that mattered after the Titans watched Bullock’s kick sail through the uprights to even the team’s record at 1-1.
