Michigan State has moved up in the latest batch of ESPN’s Bracketology by Joe Lunardi.
Lunardi released a new bracket projection for the 2022 NCAA Tournament on Wednesday, and the Spartans saw a slight bump. Michigan State moved up from a No. 7 seed in Lunardi’s last projection to a No. 6 seed in this one.
The Spartans are slated to play No. 11 seed Belmont in the East Region. Should Michigan State win in this projected bracket, they’d most likely face No. 3 seed Duke.
I’m not sure why exactly Michigan State moved up as the Spartans’ roster has not changed since that last bracketology update. But moving up from a No. 7 seed to a No. 6 seed is big and seems like a fitting spot for Michigan State entering the 2021-22 season.
