When the Baltimore Ravens and Las Vegas Raiders kicked off the first ‘Monday Night Football’ game of the 2021 NFL season, it also marked the first ‘MNF’ alternate broadcast featuring Eli and Peyton Manning on ESPN2. They both were a riot throughout the broadcast, making fun of each other as you’d expect brothers to do.
The duo also had a number of guests providing commentary throughout the game, with Charles Barkley, Ray Lewis, Russell Wilson and more. Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce also made an appearance on the alternate broadcast. He announced that he’d be joining it to talk some football ahead of kickoff.
Excited to be on Monday Night Football with Peyton & @EliManning without having to play against them. Check out ESPN2 tonight! @OmahaProd

During the broadcast, Travis Kelce said that he likes to pay attention to games of opponents that the team has coming up on the schedule, but he couldn’t recall who the Chiefs were playing in Week 2.
“I look at everything,” Kelce said. “I’m trying not to get too technical with it just because I think we’ve got the Chargers this week. Actually, I don’t even know, I think we might actually play Baltimore next week.”
I don’t even care about this #MNF game, but I’m really enjoying Peyton, Eli and Travis Kelce on Hulu. pic.twitter.com/hIjrfBedlU

Peyton gave him a hard time about it.
“Hey Travis, just so you know, you do play the Ravens next week,” Peyton said. “So make sure you don’t fly to Los Angeles to play the Chargers.”
Kelce also revealed some information about the synergy between him and Patrick Mahomes.

“No the best is right before the play, If it’s right before the play I’ll look at Pat and will just be given the eyes like, ‘Yeah, I’m about to make some shit up right here, bro,'” Kelce said. “Oh excuse me. I’m about to make some stuff up right here, man.”
“I knew it,” Eli exclaimed.
Well, Chiefs Kingdom, the secret is out. Kelce and Mahomes can read each other’s minds. That alone should scare the rest of the league.
Hopefully, more Chiefs players will get a chance to join Eli and Peyton Manning’s alternate broadcast on ‘Monday Night Football’ this season. It was a unique, different and fun way to take in the game.
