Titans’ Mike Vrabel rightly excited about Kristian Fulton after Week 1

Fulton was one of the few bright spots for the Titans in Week 1.

There wasn’t much positive coming from the Tennessee Titans’ Week 1 performance against the Arizona Cardinals, but if we’re going to point to one bright spot, it would be second-year cornerback, Kristian Fulton.

Fulton shined in coverage, notching a pair of pass break-ups — one of which occurred in the end zone — to go along with three tackles.

Per Pro Football Focus, Fulton earned a solid 75.2 coverage grade, and his 66.9 overall grade ranked fifth among all defenders. When guarding wide receiver A.J. Green, the LSU product allowed just one reception for four yards on five targets, completely shutting the veteran down.

During his day-after presser on Monday, head coach Mike Vrabel noted how Fulton played well and is excited to see him the rest of the way.

With Janoris Jenkins struggling on the other side, it’ll be interesting to see if the Titans put more on Fulton’s plate in terms of getting a tougher assignment.
