The NBA is exploring the possibility of outdoor games

The NBA is looking into the possibility of outdoor games, and New York City would be the perfect place for it to happen.

The NBA hasn’t been afraid to make tweaks in recent years, and we could see more innovations in the coming seasons. The implementation of a play-in tournament was the biggest change in 2021, and fans have loved it.

The league has also declared an interest in staging a midseason tournament. According to Evan Wasch, the NBA’s vice president of basketball strategy and analytics, the league is exploring the idea of staging outdoor games.

Wasch spoke about it on Chris Mannix and Howard Beck’s “The Crossover” podcast:

“We’ve explored it and we’ll continue to talk about it,” said Wasch.”

If this is indeed true, this would immediately set the stage for some of the best games in New York. Whether the location is Rucker Park, Dyckman or Coney Island, if the Nets were to play in any of these venues it would be an absolute thriller. It would surely give off that irreplaceable vibe that comes when watching a high school basketball tournament. It also doesn’t hurt to have three of the best isolation players in the game today in a Brooklyn jersey.
