The Houston Texans have declared their two standard elevations from the practice squad to the active roster ahead of Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The two players the Texans elevated for Week 1 were tight end Antony Auclair and kicker Joey Slye.
Slye is being elevated due to the injury that kicker Ka’imi Fairbairn sustained during pregame warmups against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the final preseason game on Aug. 28.
Auclair is part of the Texans’ solution at tight end. The former Buccaneer may be on the practice squad, but he is considered one of the team’s four tight ends on game days. Houston currently carries Pharaoh Brown, Jordan Akins, and rookie Brevin Jordan on the active roster.
