The Vandals, who dropped down to the FCS level in 2018, opened with a 68-0 beating of Simon Fraser from Division II at the Kibbie Dome. The Vandals led 40-0 at halftime, and they held the Clan to 90 yards of total offense.
The Hoosiers weren’t as prolific on offense, but they also played on the road against a ranked conference foe. Indiana was buried 34-6 at Iowa, and they trailed 31-3 at halftime. IU amassed just 11 first downs, 77 rushing yards and 156 passing yards. QB Michael Penix Jr. tossed three interceptions, too.

Money line
Indiana (-10000) will cost you $100 for every $1 won. While there is very little chance Idaho (+1500) stays in this game for very long, it’s just not worth the risk for such a small reward.
AVOID.
Against the spread
INDIANA -31.5 (-107) entered this season with sky-high expectations after a great season in 2020. After getting annihilated in its opener at Iowa, expectations have been adjusted slightly. The Hoosiers tumbled out of the Top 25, and now they are on the rebound. Indiana didn’t lose its first until Game 5 last season, the only loss of the regular season.
The Hoosiers have the stink of last week’s loss but don’t write this team off. Indiana is a very good side, and they’re going to pound Idaho in this bounce-back game.
Over/Under
OVER 52.5 (-110) is the play. Indiana is going to get the offense on track back at “The Rock” in its home opener, and they could easily take care of the Over without any assistance from the Vandals.
Penix isn’t going to be under as much duress as he was last week, and the Iowa defense was just pinning its ears back with a big lead in obvious pass situations. This will be a blowout, but the other way and IU will put up big, big totals.
