David Hayter of ‘Metal Gear Solid’ fame wants to voice Logan in ‘Marvel’s Wolverine’

He’s written X-Men movies and is the actor behind Solid Snake, perfect fit, much?

Have you ever heard of a fan-casting idea that makes so much sense that it’s hard to imagine any other scenario afterward? Well, that’s how loads of people feel about the notion of David Hayter, the voice behind Metal Gear Solid’s  Solid Snake, playing Logan in Marvel’s Wolverine. Not only due to the fact he’s a fantastic voice actor, but also because Hayter co-wrote the first two X-Men movies. For real.

It all began with the  announcement of Marvel’s Wolverine  during Sony’s PlayStation Showcase. Everyone saw the Insomniac Games logo, thinking they were about to witness a teaser for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 (which came later). But no, a trademark SNIKT blared through the speakers, and folks went wild: Wolverine is getting his own video game.

However, there’s still no word of who will actually play the titular mutton-chopped hero. But a few fans think Hayter would be perfect for the role, and shockingly, he’s into it.

This tweet sent Metal Gear Solid, Marvel, and Hayter’s fans into a speculative, joyful frenzy.

Exciting though the idea of Hayter voicing Wolverine in the new game might be, keep in mind that this is by no means a casting announcement. However, given his history with the X-Men series and extensive voice acting career, he would be perfect for it. I mean, come on, he’s even Canadian!
