Packers announce 7 team captains, including 4 first-timers, for 2021 season

The Packers elected seven captains for the 2021 season, including four first-timers.

The Green Bay Packers will have seven team captains for the 2021 season. Of the seven, four are first-timers.

The team announced three captains on offense, three captains on defense and one special teams captain.

The following players were elected captains by team vote in 2021:

QB Aaron Rodgers
WR Davante Adams
TE Marcedes Lewis
S Adrian Amos
DL Kenny Clark
CB Jaire Alexander
K Mason Crosby

All seven will wear the captain “C” patches on their uniforms in 2021. Coach Matt LaFleur said the team voted resulted in 10 different players receiving at least 10 votes, and 27 different players receiving at least one vote.

Rodgers and Crosby have been long-time captains in Green Bay. Adams, Amos, Clark and Alexander are all first-time captains, while Lewis is a first-time captain with the Packers.

Za’Darius Smith, a captain on defense during each of his first two seasons in Green Bay, was not voted a captain.
