Titans CEO: Ring of Honor moving, no plan to require proof of vaccination at stadium

As of now, Titans fans won’t have to show proof of vaccination to enter Nissan Stadium.

When Tennessee Titans fans attend the first game of the 2021 regular season at Nissan Stadium, they will not be required to show proof of vaccination.

Titans CEO Burke Nihill met with the media on Wednesday and revealed that there is no plan to require proof of vaccination to enter the stadium, per Jim Wyatt of Titans Online.

“At this point, that is the plan,” Nihill said. “We are planning for full capacity on Sunday, and the hope and expectation is that will be the case for the rest of the year. But (like) last year, we will be as flexible as necessary to keep the season going.”

The Titans will continue to be in communication with local officials and the NFL, so there is a chance things could change as more information becomes available and requirements change.

Nihill also stated that the Titans’ Ring of Honor will have a new location in 2021, but the new spot along the cinder block wall behind the lower bowl might not be its final place.

“We have moved them down to the cinder block walls behind the lower bowl with some really well-done design,” Nihill said. “Even then, though, I don’t think that will be the final location. Our hope would be to find a Walk of Fame-type, Ring of Honor/Hall of Fame-style honor for our legends in a modified stadium/development, which would really give an opportunity for our fans to interact with whatever the memorials would be – the numbers, the players – on a 365-day (per year) basis.

“In the case of a lot of our Houston Oilers players, it would give us an opportunity to actually better introduce them to our fans, to give their statistics and what made them great in more of a plaza, walk of honor-style basis. So look out for that over the next couple of years.”

The Titans will be inducting three new members into the Ring of Honor in 2021, including former head coaches Jeff Fisher and Bum Phillips, and former general manager Floyd Reese.
