Former Hogs Trey Flowers, Frank Ragnow named captains for Detroit Lions

Two former Arkansas football players named captains of Detroit Lions at the same time.

Former Arkansas defensive lineman and former Arkansas center Frank Ragnow were named team captains for the Detroit Lions on Monday.

Flowers, who played at Arkansas from 2011-2014, is entering his third season with the Lions and seventh in the NFL. He played in seven games last year with five starts. A fractured forearm ended his season early. Flowers has recorded 30 sacks in his last five years combined.

Ragnow was named to his first Pro Bowl last year, his third season with Lions. Ragnow played guard and center at Arkansas from 2014-2017. He has started all 45 games he’s played with Detroit in his career.

Flowers and Ragnow are two of 15 active NFL players. Another five are on NFL practice squads and two more are on reserved lists.
