There was a lot to like about the Oklahoma Sooners 40-35. Most of it from the first half. The Sooners scored 37 points in the first half to build a 23 point lead after a dominating second quarter.
There was also a lot the Sooners showed on Saturday that needs work. Rarely is a game perfect, but the Sooners struggled with Tulane in a way that few anticipated.
Spencer Rattler had a bad decision that led to an interception, a bad throw that led to one, and a penalty that overturned an interception. His day was solid, but there were plays he would certainly like to have back. Overall he was 30 of 37 for 304 yards and a touchdown.
With a week two matchup with Western Carolina on the horizon, the Sooners have a lot to clean up heading into week two.
Here are five takeaways from the win.
