Josh Giddey reminisces about participating in Ben Simmons’ basketball camp

Giddey once took part in a basketball camp hosted by Simmons back in Australia in 2017.

Oklahoma City Thunder rookie Josh Giddey recently reminisced about the time he participated in a basketball camp hosted by fellow Australian and Philadelphia 76ers guard Ben Simmons.

Simmons annually hosts two basketball camps back in Australia in Sydney and Melbourne. The camp gives participants the opportunity to learn and interact with Simmons while also developing on-court skills from coaches and trainers.

Giddey, who was born in Melbourne, has drawn comparisons to Simmons with his ability to lead and get others involved. The 6-foot-9 guard is similar in size to Simmons and is even thought to be a better shooter than Simmons was at this stage of his career.

Of course, Giddey would eventually spend time at the NBA Academy in Australia before playing last season with the Adelaide 36ers in the National Basketball League before becoming the sixth overall pick by the Thunder in July.

He often credits Simmons with giving him advice throughout the years so it will be fun to watch the Thunder face the 76ers this season or, perhaps, another team.
