Tracking Washington’s 16-man practice squad additions

Tracking all of Washington’s practice squad moves here.

The Washington Football Team will begin building its 2021 practice squad on Wednesday at noon ET.

Washington trimmed its roster to 53 players on Tuesday, keeping seven wide receivers, 11 defensive backs and four linebackers.

When Washington begins adding players to the practice squad, look for extra depth on the offensive and defensive lines.

In 2021, all NFL teams can sign 16 players to the practice squad. Up to six players can be on the practice squad who have accrued two or more seasons in the NFL.

Teams may also carry up to four players with two or fewer years of NFL experience. All rookies and first-year players are eligible for the practice squad.

During the season, up to four players can be protected each week. Other teams can sign unprotected practice squad members for that week, and two practice squad players can be elevated to the active roster on game day.
