Former Vol could start for Texas A&M in Week 1

Former Vol could start for Texas A&M in Week 1.

Offensive lineman Jahmir Johnson transferred from Tennessee to Texas A&M in February.

The Aggies released its depth chart ahead of playing Kent State in Week 1.

Johnson, a 6-foot-5, 300-pound graduate transfer, is listed at left tackle on Texas A&M’s Week 1 depth chart. Johnson or Reuben Fatheree II are listed as starters at left tackle for the Aggies.

Johnson transferred to Tennessee from Arizona Western ahead of the 2018 season.

He appeared in 24 games for the Vols from 2018-20.

“Past three years, the University of Tennessee has become my home,” Johnson said in February. “After much consideration with my close friends and family, I will be deciding to transfer to Texas A&M University to continue to play football in the SEC at a high level while also pursuing my graduate degree.”
