With the start of the 2021-22 NBA season approaching rather quickly, now is the time to begin ranking the players around the league by position. There is so much talent in this league in terms, and it’s time to rank the best of the best.
Philadelphia 76ers guard Seth Curry does so much for the team. His ability to knock down 3-pointers at a high clip — 45% from deep — helps Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons operate on the offensive end. Philadelphia needed all of his contributions in order to succeed.
In a list of the top 22 shooting guards in the NBA put together by HoopsHype, Curry comes in ranked 21st on the list:
Curry hit 45.0% of his 3s in 2020-21, the fifth-best mark among players with at least 250 outside opportunities. The 31-year-old also ranked in the 85th percentile league-wide in overall offense, according to Synergy Sports, a mark healthy enough to put him in the “excellent” category as a scorer.
Curry was monstrous in the last playoffs, too, upping his scoring to 18.8 points over 12 games and hitting 50.6% of his 6.8 nightly 3-point attempts, bombarding opponents with his shooting, both with his feet set and off of one or two dribbles.
For the Sixers to contend again in the Eastern Conference, they will need Curry to continue to bombs away from deep and improve on the defensive end of the floor.
