Les Snead, Kevin Demoff and Sean McVay have all said the Rams haven’t decided on who their punter will be as Johnny Hekker and Corey Bojorquez battle it out for the starting job. Fans have prepared themselves for the possibility of Hekker being cut or traded, but there could be a plot twist.
On the day of final cuts, the Rams took the field for practice about two hours before the 4 p.m. ET deadline. On the field was Hekker, who has spent almost the last two weeks on the reserve/COVID-19 list. He’s apparently been activated, allowing him to return to practice.
Bojorquez, on the other hand, was not at practice. That could be a sign that the Rams are keeping Hekker over the former Buffalo Bill as their punter.
Johnny Hekker is on the practice field as the Rams begin practice, and Corey Bojorquez isn’t. So Hekker’s off the Covid-19 reserve list. *Could* mean the veteran punter is surviving roster cuts.

Again, final cuts are due at 4 p.m. ET today, so we’ll find out soon enough which direction the Rams are going on special teams, but there’s hope that Hekker will remain in Los Angeles for at least another season.
