CLEVELAND – All chaos broke out Thursday after Jake Paul’s team member talked trash to Tyron Woodley’s mother during their faceoff ahead of Sunday’s Showtime boxing match.
After what was a pretty level-headed news conference, a member of Paul’s team heckled “Mama Woodley,” Tyron’s mother, as the fighters stared down one another.
A commotion began between the two teams, which quickly caught Woodley’s attention. As he realized what happened, Woodley’s anger rose. Security intervened before things got physical. Paul’s party was escorted out of the room, but Woodley was in pursuit and the two groups exchanged words before they were moved on their way.
A former UFC welterweight champion, Woodley will get his crack at Paul this Sunday when they square off in a Showtime pay-per-view-headlining boxing match. Paul is 3-0 in boxing with wins over YouTuber Ali Enson Gib, former NBA player Nate Robinson, and former MMA champion Ben Askren. meanwhile, Woodley will make his professional boxing debut in the bout.
