The Jacksonville Jaguars had to place a first-round draft pick from Clemson in the 2021 NFL selection process on Injured Reserve.
Not Trevor Lawrence. Rather, the former Tigers’ quarterback’s backfield mate, running back Travis Etienne.
Etienne injured his foot in Monday’s loss to the New Orleans Saints and he appears done for the season.

Etienne rushed for nearly 5,000 yards and scored 70 touchdowns on the ground at the South Carolina school. He also caught passes for another 1,199 yards and scored 8 receiving touchdowns.
Etienne was drafted 25th overall. He was the Jags’ second, first-round pick with the top one being Lawrence, who went No. 1 overall to a team that finished 1-15 in 2020.
Etienne played a total of 16 snaps between Jacksonville’s first two preseason games, carrying the ball twice for three yards.
