The Arizona Cardinals made a few roster moves on Monday, activating receiver Andy Isabella from the COVID list and also activating defensive end J.J. Watt and outside linebacker Dennis Gardeck from PUP.
They waived three players as well.
As things currently stand, they have 86 players on their roster, which includes two players — guard Justin Pugh and defensive tackle Jordan Phillips — on the COVID list, giving them 84 against the 86 they are allowed to have.
However, the second roster cutdown day is today. By this afternoon, they will need to get their active offseason roster down to 81 players. The Cardinals have a roster exemption for international tight end Bernhard Seikovits, allowing them one player more than the 80 the rest of the league is allowed after today.
That means they will need to cut three players now and then another two once Pugh and Phillips return.
Final roster cuts down to 53 players is next Tuesday, following the Cardinals’ preseason finale Saturday night against the New Orleans Saints on the road.
