Be sure to dress appropriately if you’re visiting Caesars Superdome on Monday night: the New Orleans Saints announced today that they will be again pairing their white away jerseys with gold pants in their preseason game with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
That’s the same uniform combination they used in their first preseason game on the road against the Baltimore Ravens. Though you have to imagine New Orleans is banking for better results than last week’s disappointing fourth-quarter collapse. Still, remember that nothing matters (especially points scored and game results) in preseason. And we’re fortunate to see them pick an aesthetically pleasing uniform combo this week.
For the curious, here is the winning percentage the Saints have achieved in every uniform permutation they’ve worn since Sean Payton was hired as head coach back in 2006:
- White jerseys, white pants: 6-2 (.750)
- “Color Rush” alternates: 8-3 (.727)
- “Black and Gold” throwbacks: 2-1 (.667)
- Black jerseys, gold pants: 23-13 (.639)
- White jerseys, black pants: 41-25 (.621)
- Black jerseys, black pants: 46-30 (.605)
- White jerseys, gold pants: 32-24 (.571)
