New England Patriots receiver Jakobi Meyers has been the best player at his position during the preseason, according to Pro Football Focus.
Meyers has clearly been the top option for quarterback Cam Newton for their first two preseason games against the Washington Football Team and the Philadelphia Eagles. He has four catches, 67 yards and a touchdown in just 32 preseason snaps. More important than counting stats, Meyers has shown the consistent ability to get open, something the rest of the receiving corps have struggled to do. Even with the additions of Nelson Agholor and Kendrick Bourne in free agency, Meyers seems poised to remain the top receiving option when the seasons starts.

Meyers finished the 2020 season with 59 catches for 729 yards, with 58 of those catches and 727 of those yards coming in the final 11 games of the season. It seems he is carrying that strong conclusion to 2020 into a hot start in 2021.
