It might not quite be the “Era of Unbridled Optimism” down in Miami. But Dolphins fans are getting there.
Years ago when the Washington Nationals acquired Stephen Strausburg, Tony Kornheiser took to his radio show and declared it the “Era of Unbridled Optimism” in the nation’s capital. After all, Strausburg was impressive to start his career. Eventually a World Series followed.
Dolphins fans are hoping for the same down in South Beach, but to get there they will need to see signs of growth and development from second-year passer Tua Tagovailoa. If his performance against the Atlanta Falcons is any indication, that process is underway. Tagovailoa finished 16-of-23 for 183 yards and a touchdown in that game. Let’s look at four of the plays from that game…as well as one from last season…to highlight that growth:
