In the “dress rehearsal” for the regular season, Cowboys quarterback Garrett Gilbert had a pair of unsuccessful drives, with the first resulting in a fumble that the Texans capitalized on. The staff made a switch with Cooper Rush taking over the duties on the third drive.
Capping off a five-play, 75-yard drive, Rush found running back Tony Pollard in the flat, and he finished the job to score the game-tying touchdown. Rush could be competing for the spot as the backup in Dallas with uncertainty surrounding the position beyond the obvious starter Dak Prescott.

Pollard continues to show his ability as a backup to running back Ezekiel Elliott with this score. Starters should continue to see the field for most of the first half and the Cowboys will have an interesting quarterback contest to watch as this game and the preseason comes to a close.
