Tarik Cohen defended Mitch Trubisky before Bears fans could boo the QB in his return

Tarik Cohen is a real one.

Mitch Trubisky just didn’t live up to the hype of being the number 2 overall pick for the Chicago Bears in the 2017 draft.

He showed flashes of being a potentially solid quarterback, but never could quite put together the string of brilliant performances that would’ve taken the team to the next level.

So now he’s gone. The Trubisky era in Chicago is over. The quarterback signed a one-year deal with the Bills in the offseason and the Bears drafted Justin Fields this season. Fans are thrilled about it.

Everyone has moved on just fine. That’s why when Trubisky returns to Soldier Field for the first time as a visitor in the Bears preseason game against the Bills, Tarik Cohen doesn’t want to hear any boos.

The running back defended his former teammate against Bears fans ahead of the game with this amazing tweet.

He’s not wrong! It is totally lame to boo a player who fulfilled their contract to the best of their ability and moved on — even if it wasn’t the greatest football.

Trubisky wasn’t good, but he doesn’t deserve boos for just not being good. Shouts to Cohen for defending his former teammate. Good on him.
