The Longhorns held an open practice to the public on Wednesday evening.
The practice consisted of everything from position drills to 11-on-11 competition, which allowed fans to see who was receiving the starting reps for the first time.
However, if there is one thing for certain that no one needed clarification on, it’s the simple fact that sophomore running back Bijan Robinson is a star in the making.
During the 11-on-11 period, Robinson was making plays the whole time, and even had a very impressive touchdown that showcased his ability to quickly get to the second level. Although they were not in full pads, it would not have mattered if it was tackle, two-hand touch, or flag football because Robinson hit the hole with authority and never turned back.

There were reports that the wide receivers were still struggling yesterday, which is not ideal, considering the season starts in roughly two weeks. However, having Robinson in the backfield, who is widely regarded as one of the top running backs in the nation, is a an absolute luxury for an offense that will be fielding a new quarterback, inexperienced receivers, and a few different offensive lineman.
Texas will rely heavily on Robinson, as they should, but the rest of the offense needs to be much more consistent.
