Sixers plan on signing Charles Bassey to an NBA deal, working on details

The Philadelphia 76ers plan on signing Charles Bassey to an actual NBA deal.

The Philadelphia 76ers are beginning to fill out the rest of their roster with training camp getting set to begin in a little over a month. The team signed Grant Riller to a two-way deal earlier on Wednesday to fill up both of their two-way slots and now they have to figure out their rookie big man.

The team selected Charles Bassey with the 53rd pick in the 2021 NBA draft and he did not play in the summer league due to him not signing a contract just yet. As the team continues on with their offseason, the plan is to sign Bassey, but obviously, not on a two-way deal.

The Sixers want to sign Bassey to an actual NBA contract, but they need to just work out the final details on any deal involving the big man. Riller and Aaron Henry are the players on the two-way deals.

Bassey brings good value to Philadelphia as a player who was a projected first-round pick. The fact that the Sixers got him at 53 is some good luck on their side. They now must get him on a deal to bring him into camp and begin to develop him.
