The Los Angeles Lakers still have three open roster spots left to finalize and names are popping up.
Los Angeles could benefit from adding more playmaking point guards behind Russell Westbrook, and Isaiah Thomas has been a possibility.
The veteran point guard has had his prime years derailed due to injury; he played only three games in the 2020 season with the Washington Wizards.
But Thomas, a free agent, could be returning to an NBA team for a better role, and that team could be the Lakers.
Thomas has worked out with LeBron James and Russell Westbrook, which could further fuel those rumors, according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports:
“Thomas, James and Russell Westbrook worked out together Tuesday morning in Los Angeles, sources said.”
James and Westbrook have also been in the gym practicing together have also been in the gym practicing together, and James and Anthony Davis usually have influence on roster additions.
Thomas should be a name to monitor as he previously had a short stint with the franchise in 2017.
