Is a hot streak still considered a hot streak if it’s constant?
That’s a question that many fans of the Oregon Ducks are probably asking themselves this morning after the latest commitment they landed from one of the top recruits in the nation.
4-star wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan gave a verbal commitment to the Ducks on Monday night, becoming the highest-rated offensive skill position recruit of the Mario Cristobal era, according to 247Sports rankings. McMillan is the nation’s No. 27 overall prospect and No. 5 WR.
With the latest commitment from McMillan, Oregon jumped up in the national recruiting rankings, cracking the top 10 and landing at No. 9. In doing so, they passed a few national recruiting powers, like Florida State (10), Clemson (11), Texas (12), and Michigan (13).
It could get even better for the Ducks later this week, too, with an announcement yet to come from 4-star athlete Jalil Tucker.
If Oregon lands 4* WR Tetairoa McMillan and 4* CB Jalil Tucker in the next week, the team ranking will jump from 12th to 4th in the country, jumping…
Alabama
Georgia
Texas A&M
Florida State
Texas
Clemson
Oklahoma
& LSU— Oregon Recruiting (@duckscrootin) August 14, 2021
Landing a player like Tucker is not a pipe-dream either, with a strong feeling that he will choose the Ducks on the 20th.
With 18 commits already in this cycle, Oregon is racking up a historic class that has a chance to be the highest in school history for the third straight season.
