Vikings waive CB Amari Henderson

The Vikings have cut their roster down to 85 players after the team waived cornerback Amari Henderson.

And the cutdowns continue.

The Vikings whittled their roster down to 85 players on Tuesday when the team waived cornerback Amari Henderson.

Henderson was one of the five tryout players to participate in rookie camp for the Vikings. Minnesota liked him enough to sign him after that. Before his stint with the Vikings, Henderson signed with the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent in 2020.

All that said, this move shouldn’t come as a shock. The Vikings are deep at cornerback now, so players like Henderson will have to have strong showings in order to make the team.

Minnesota is most likely not done cutting down the cornerback room, considering there are still nine corners on the roster. Corners like Tye Smith, Parry Nickerson and Dylan Mabin will have to fight for spots near the bottom of the cornerback depth chart.

The Vikings also waived long snapper Turner Bernard and defensive end Jordan Brailford on Sunday. Minnesota waived kicker Riley Patterson and wide receiver Blake Proehl with an injury designation as well.
