Joseph Ossai was the star of the show for the Cincinnati Bengals on Saturday night against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Wearing the No. 58 last donned by Carl Lawson, Ossai looked like the best pass rusher on the field while tallying sacks, pressures and making plays in the running game.

Then he left the game with a hand injury in the second half.

Ossai will undergo testing on the hand Sunday after injuring it while crashing into another defender during a meet at the quarterback.

Should Ossai miss a chunk of time it would classify as incredibly disappointing. He looked like a must-start player for the season opener given what he did to Tampa Bay starters. And rubbing more salt in the wound is the fact he didn’t really need to be out there in the second half because he had shown enough already — no point in risking him, right?

For now, it’s the waiting game on the biggest breakout Bengals player of all.
