Bulls to sign second-round pick Ayo Dosunmu to two-year contract

Dosunmu is averaging six points, five rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.3 steals in three games in the Las Vegas Summer League.

Chicago Bulls rookie and former Illinois guard Ayo Dosunmu will reportedly sign a guaranteed two-year, $2.48 million contract, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Dosunmu, who was the 38th overall pick, was a consensus first-team All-American last season after averaging 20.1 points, 6.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists. He joined Magic Johnson as the only two players to register multiple triple-doubles in Big Ten play.

The 21-year-old is averaging six points, five rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.3 steals in three games with the Bulls in the Las Vegas Summer League. He turned in his best performance of the week on Tuesday, recording 10 points, four rebounds, four steals and two assists.

Dosunmu was highly touted entering the draft for his ability as a scorer. He also registered a 6-foot-10 wingspan at the combine that has been on full display in summer league. He checks a lot of boxes for the Bulls and could emerge as a potential steal candidate given his draft position.
