The Matthew Stafford-DeSean Jackson connection seems to be working just fine at Rams training camp this summer, with the two hooking up for deep passes in seemingly every practice. They showed off that connection on Saturday afternoon against the Cowboys in Oxnard, with Stafford throwing an absolute dime to Jackson deep for a huge gain.
It came after Stafford rolled to his left and threw back to the right, a perfect pass to his speedy receiver who was crossing the field and got behind the defense. It was the highlight of practice as Stafford continued to show why the Rams are so high on him.
With the way Jackson has played in camp, he might just be the Rams’ No. 3 receiver ahead of Van Jefferson right now. Stafford likes to take shots down the field and Jackson’s speed allows him to do just that.
