Watch: Ian Rapoport apologizes to Mike Vrabel for talking to Titans during practice

Ian Rapoport got it good from Mike Vrabel because he was talking to players during practice.

When it comes to reporting breaking news, few in the media are as good at their job as NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, but the insider made a crucial mistake while visiting Titans training camp on Friday.

During an interview with Titans head coach Mike Vrabel, analyst and former NFL linebacker Willie McGinest revealed that Rapoport was scolded and thrown off the field by his former New England Patriots teammate for talking to left tackle Taylor Lewan during practice.

“We don’t need anybody bothering the players,” Vrabel said with a smile. “Let’s not bother the players. There’s media time, and obviously it’s a fine line having been where I come from, having spoke to the media as a player and now that I get to see them everyday.”

McGinest then called Rapoport over to apologize, which he did, saying “I apologize. I take full responsibility for my actions. I really am sorry.”

“We accept your apology. Don’t talk to the players during practice,”
Vrabel responded, leading to the trio having a good laugh.

The Titans held their eighth training camp practice on Friday and will return to the field on Saturday before having an off day on Sunday.
