The Tennessee Titans look to be adding to their training camp roster soon, as the team will reportedly ink former Tampa Bay Buccaneers fullback/tight end, Donnie Ernsberger.
The signing was first reported by Titans beat writer Paul Kuharsky, and then confirmed by Justin Melo of Music City Miracles.
Ernsberger was originally an undrafted free agent signing of the Bucs out of Michigan back in 2018. He played some linebacker for the Wolverines in his freshman season, but moved over to tight end in the years that followed.
The 24-year-old recorded 45 catches for 528 yards and five touchdowns during his collegiate career.
The 6-foot-2, 237-pound tight end/fullback has appeared in just two games during his NFL career, both of which came in 2018. Ernsberger played 26 snaps that season, six on offense and 20 on defense.
The Titans figure to have the fullback position wrapped up with Khari Blasingame, but there is some uncertainty at the tight end position, particularly with the team’s depth options.
Regardless, Ernsberger will have an uphill climb in making the final cut.
