On a team that was desperate to find leaders in the locker room to change the culture, Ja’Marr Chase stands out as one for the Cincinnati Bengals.
Chase has a lead-by-example attitude at Bengals training camp. He was the fifth-overall pick, but onlookers could be forgiven if they didn’t know as much with the way the former LSU star puts in work during and after every practice.
As Bengals broadcaster Dan Hoard pointed out on social media, Chase puts in work with the Juggs machine after every practice session — something that seems to be infectious, as he can’t recall seeing so many players putting in extra work after every day of practice:
Five observations from Day 7 of #Bengals training camp:
1. Ja’Marr Chase catches passes off of a jugs machine after every practice (in this case while kneeling). I don’t recall seeing so many players doing extra work after practice at a previous training camp pic.twitter.com/jwwtZHSQt4— Dan Hoard (@Dan_Hoard) August 4, 2021
With the way Chase works and guys like Mike Hilton now lead the charge in the locker room, one would be right to suggest the culture has fully changed at Paul Brown Stadium.
If things go as planned, Chase’s talent — and work ethic — will show up big in the win column.
