Bengals QB Joe Burrow explains why he deleted social media

Joe Burrow won’t be on social media anytime soon.

Don’t expect to see any posts on social media by Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow in the near future.

Burrow, normally pretty quiet on social media anyway despite the tidal waves he makes with each rare post, says he’s deleted all of his accounts as he kicks into the final gear of his injury comeback.

From ESPN’s Ben Baby: “Just too many distractions during camp. I don’t want to have all those distractions right now. I just want to focus on football, focus on being around the guys, focus on the job at hand.”

Short, simple and to the point — like most of his old social media posts since going pro, anyway.

Burrow’s accounts on platforms like Twitter and Instagram are still live, but he hasn’t posted on them in about four weeks as of this writing. He’s presumably axed all of them from his devices.

Swatting aside distractions is a good thing — Burrow surprisingly says he’d like to see some preseason snaps. Let’s just say he’s off on the right foot too, as he just went perfect in a 7-on-7 drill.
