For Deshaun Watson, the @Texans price has been some combination of 5 high draft picks and starting caliber players, per two league executives.

The talk around the NFL on Monday morning has been all about Houston Texans quarterbacks quarterback and Houston’s interest in working a blockbuster deal sending Watson to a new team. This has been a conversation for the entirety of the offseason but it seems to be really picking up steam again with teams reporting to training camp.
Every time an elite player hits the market or potentially hits the market, Pittsburgh Steelers fans want to work themselves into a lather about that player joining the team.
Not this time, folks. According to NFL reporter Chris Mortensen, the price for Watson is going to be massive. Multiple first-round picks, other high picks and starters? What would that look like for the Steelers?
2021 first-round pick
2021 second-round pick
2022 first-round pick
2022 second-round pick
2023 second-round pick
WR Diontae Johnson
LB T.J. Watt
This is the sort of scenario the Texans are looking for. Is anyone ok with this sort of trade for the 25-year old Watson?
There’s no doubt the Steelers are going to need to take the quarterback position seriously once the season is over. No one wants a decade-long drought after Ben Roethlisberger leaves. But there’s no way a franchise as conservative as the Steelers is going to mortgage the future for one player like this.
