Some fans will remember John Skelton, who was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in 2010 in the fifth round out of Fordham. He was the starter for part of his time on the team.
He has not played since 2012 but stayed in Tempe, Arizona, where the team headquarters is located, after his career.
Now he is making a move into politics.
Skelton announced his candidacy for Tempe Town Council Wednesday.
I want to ensure Tempe is a great place for everyone. Whether it's helping small businesses, protecting the quality of life in our neighborhoods, or tackling housing affordability – I'm running to be your voice on the City Council.
