Larry Fitzgerald ‘outpunching his weight’ in role with Suns

Phoenix Suns owner Robert Sarver says Fitzgerald is their “number one business development sales officer.”

Larry Fitzgerald has not declared whether he will retire from the NFL or whether he will return to play another season for the Arizona Cardinals. However, he is thriving in his role as minority owner with the Phoenix Suns.

12 News’ Cam Cox spoke with Suns owner Robert Sarver, with whom Fitzgerald has developed a very good friendship. He spoke about how he has seen Fitzgerald grow in his role with the team.

“He’s got two things with him,” Sarver said. “Number one, he’s got a tremendous Rolodex of contacts and he also has a real thirst for learning. He’s our number one business development sales officer. He’s outpunching his weight.”

Fitzgerald gets to enjoy the Suns’ current run in the NBA Finals, which could end up with him getting a championship ring in the NBA before doing so in the NFL.

With how active he is with the Suns, does that mean he has moved on from the NFL?

He isn’t saying. He recognizes football will always be part of him. He recently said he hasn’t decided anything.
