Notre Dame gets yet another big ‘22 commit

Yet another defensive difference maker for the Irish

It’s safe to say that Notre Dame’s 2022 recruiting has taken it a notch higher than in previous years. The consensus is that the Irish currently have a top-2 class in the country. It only got stronger this evening.

Jaylen Sneed, a top-100 rated linebacker has made his verbal pledge to the Irish. At six-foot-two-inches and 210-pounds, the South Carolina native becomes the 18th commit in the 2022 class, joining many other top prospects that are headed to South Bend.

When you look at where the highest rated players in the class are going to line up, it should be a testament to new defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman’s impact. Including Sneed, the top four commits in the class are on the defensive side of the ball.

The Irish beat out multiple big name schools including Texas A&M, Oklahoma and Oregon for Sneed’s commitment. This is once again a massive recruiting win for Brian Kelly, Freeman and the Notre Dame staff.
