The Chiefs, who are led by star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, have dominated the AFC West, being crowned division champs the last five years.
However, Kansas City was put on notice last season, with the dominance of reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year, QB Justin Herbert.
At the American Century Championship, a golf tournament that took place in Lake Tahoe, NV this past week, Mahomes was reminded that he isn’t the only stud signal-caller getting all the recognition now.
“Watch out for Justin Herbert next year,” a golf patron said.
Mahomes’ response? “I’ll see it when I believe it,” as he walked off with a little smile on his face.

The actual phrase is, “I’ll believe it when I see it,” which may be an indicator that he’s already a little phased by Herbert, or simply a tongue twister.
Last season in an unexpected start in Week 2, Herbert still managed to take the Chiefs to overtime, where he put up quite the performance with 302 passing yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions.
If throwing for over 4,300 yards, totaling 36 touchdowns and shattering nearly every rookie record isn’t something to believe in, then I don’t know what else Mahomes was expecting.
Either way, the rivalry between the two in the coming years should be a sight to see.
