Is Ben Roethlisberger one of the 15 best quarterbacks in the NFL?

Last season, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger threw for 3,803 passing yards and 33 passing touchdowns. With no help from a run game, Roethlisberger led this team to 11-0 and an AFC North title. A lot of people would consider that a pretty solid effort.

So needless to say, I was a bit surprised when Touchdown Wire put out their Top 15 quarterbacks for 2021 and did not include Roethlisberger on the list.

Once you read over the list, a couple of things become clear. The NFL is in a quarterback renaissance right now with a lot of exceptional young talent at the position.

I’m sure many of you will read this list and take exception to Big Ben’s exclusion but the only question is who do you take off? The easy answer is Las Vegas Raiders signal-caller Derek Carr. Carr has been pretty inconsistent during his career and I’m not sure how many people would take him over Roethlisberger if they had a game they needed to win.
